Animals, Beasties and Monsters of Scotland

Great place – great space! Dalkeith Museum makes the most of the great space beneath the high vaulted Corn Exchange ceiling. It is also a great place to stage Museum linked events.

The Museum relies on such events to raise funds to cover core costs and to encourage new visitors, who might not normally visit a Museum, to come to Dalkeith. Winter events include evening walking tours and book presentations. Browse our events below for more information, booking details and costs.

6.30pm – 21st November 2019

Storytelling and book presentation by well-known local storyteller, Lea Taylor.

Magical Stories about Magical Animals.

“Some of these stories are strange and sad, some are a bit scary and some are a bit mad.”

However, they have all been passed down through the generations and have been specially chosen by Lea to be enjoyed by 7 – 11 year olds.   “They sparkle with magic and explode with adventure!”

Old stories brought up to date – an ideal Christmas present?

Lea will talk about what inspired her to write the book and will tell some of the stories in the atmospheric surroundings of the Museum on a winter evening.

Tickets £3.50 – including a glass of wine – are available from the Museum.
