Dark and Deadly Dalkeith Walking Tour® (23rd Nov)

Great place – great space! Dalkeith Museum makes the most of the great space beneath the high vaulted Corn Exchange ceiling. It is also a great place to stage Museum linked events.

The Museum relies on such events to raise funds to cover core costs and to encourage new visitors, who might not normally visit a Museum, to come to Dalkeith. Winter events include evening walking tours and book presentations. Browse our events below for more information, booking details and costs.

Once again join storyteller, Lady Anne Kerr and explore the darker side of Dalkeith.

Hear the chilling stories of the Bridge End murders, of public hangings, of notorious grave robbers and of simple women persecuted for witchcraft.

Let the secrets of dark and deadly Dalkeith be disclosed as you explore the closes and wynds of the town. Find out too about more recent local heroes such as James Marchbanks – who at 14 went to war.

The tour begins at the Dukes’ Gates – the entrance to Dalkeith Country Park and will end in the Museum – with refreshments to calm your shattered nerves!

£12 Per Head  (NOT SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN)

Tickets also available at Dalkeith Museum, 61 St Andrew Street.
