Dark and Deadly Dalkeith Walking Tour® (5th Oct)

Great place – great space! Dalkeith Museum makes the most of the great space beneath the high vaulted Corn Exchange ceiling. It is also a great place to stage Museum linked events.

The Museum relies on such events to raise funds to cover core costs and to encourage new visitors, who might not normally visit a Museum, to come to Dalkeith. Winter events include evening walking tours and book presentations. Browse our events below for more information, booking details and costs.

7pm – 5th October 2019

Explore the darker side of Dalkeith with storyteller, Lady Anne Kerr.  Journey into the past and learn about the ghosts who may still stalk the closes and wynds of Dalkeith.

Discover how the dead were stolen and sold for profit and learn of the significance of phrases such as “dead ringer” and “saved by the bell”

The tour begins at the Dukes’ Gates – the entrance to Dalkeith Country Park and will end in the Museum – with refreshments to calm your shattered nerves!
